Anna Arkhipova is a legal expert specialising in private international law, maritime law, and insurance law, with extensive experience in academic teaching, legal practice, and advisory work. In 2000, she graduated with honours from the Faculty of International Law of MGIMO University. In 2008, she defended her PhD thesis entitled “Shipowners’ Liability Insurance under English and Russian Law.”
From 1999 to 2012, Anna Arkhipova was engaged in legal practice, working first as a lawyer and later as a partner at a Russian law firm specialising in maritime, transport, and insurance law.
From 2010 to 2024, she served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Private International and Civil Law named after S. N. Lebedev at MGIMO University. Between 2012 and 2021, she acted as a consultant at the S. S. Alexeyev Private Law Research Center. Since 2015, she has also been an Associate Professor at the Russian School of Private Law, a division of the same research center.
Since 2019, Anna Arkhipova has held the position of Deputy Head of the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, where she contributes to the development of maritime arbitration and resolution of disputes in the maritime and transport sectors.
