We are pleased to announce that the Arbitration Center has completed a first stage in launching its Online System. The demo version can be found here.

The Online System of the Arbitration Center allows parties and arbitrators to follow the course of arbitration. The Online System resembles the existing electronic systems of state courts in convenience, but (unlike the latter) respects confidentiality. Only parties and arbitrators have access to a particular arbitration.

  • The Online System pursues the following aims:
  1. Allowing parties to commence and conduct arbitration in a time-efficient and convenient way;
  2. Allowing arbitrators and administrative staff of the Arbitration Center to perform its functions properly in time;
  3. Ensuring that parties and arbitrators receive all documents and notifications;
  4. Allowing users to upload documents anytime through any electronic devices;
  5. Allowing users to have access to all information related to an arbitration.

In order to commence arbitration, a user shall start filling in the gaps designed for the names of the Claimant and the Respondent. After the user selects the respective legal entity from the drop-down list, the Online System automatically finds all the necessary information in the database of legal entities. The user may verify the information identified by the System.

The Online System creates tasks for each individual user. For instance, in order to commence an arbitration, a representative of the Claimant is invited to upload a Request for Arbitration or a Claim with the required attachments. These documents will be sent to the Arbitration Center and the Respondent after the Claimant confirms its intention to commence the arbitration.

Only representatives of the parties and third parties as well as arbitrators and staff of the Administrative Office of the Arbitration Center have a full-time access to an arbitration. The Online System sends documents and notifications only to those e-mails specified by the parties or indicated in the arbitration agreement. All information in the Online System is divided in five tabs: Events, Participants, Documents, Tasks and Budget. The logic of such structure allows users to find any information in one click.

The tab Events provides users with the information on a chronology of steps made by participants of the arbitration. The users can also verify whether the status of their arbitration has been changed or not. They may switch from a particular event to a more detailed information about the arbitration, a viewing/downloading of the documents, an information about a new arbitrator, party or representative.

The tab Participants contains all necessary information about the parties as well as contact details of their representatives. The Claimant, the Respondent and the third parties are allowed to have several representatives within one arbitration. The representatives are granted access to arbitration only after the verification of their powers by the administrative staff of the Arbitration Center.

All documents uploaded by parties, arbitrators and the Arbitration Center can be found in the respective tab called Documents. The users of the Online System may search the documents by a detailed system of filters, which is also used in the tab Events.

In the tab Tasks the Online System shows how much time is left for the users to complete their tasks in an arbitration. The Online System also shows the venue of oral hearings and other information, which helps parties and arbitrators to comply with deadlines. Each user may customize the way and time of receiving information on his/her tasks.

The tab Budget allows parties to pay a registration fee, to calculate the amount of an arbitration fee and to print an invoice. If an hourly-rate system is used, the tab Budget shows the remaining amount of the advanced payment, arbitrators and administrative staff fee.

The Online System has a separate page showing information on all arbitrations involving a user. This page invites to check updates in arbitrations and switch from one casefile to another.

The Arbitration Center will soon complete the development of its Online System and provide everyone with an access to its full version.
